Across the 14 “best daily trainer” prompts, Nike is named in 88% of answers. adidas is named in 41%. The engines cite Runner’s World and Wirecutter, and you have no page that answers the question.

The topic runs at 5,400 searches a month and is climbing in the assistants. It earns a page of its own.

Your brand kit puts Supernova, not Adizero, in front of everyday runners, so the page leads with the Supernova Rise 3 and keeps Adizero for fast days. Headlines uppercase, adidas lowercase, and the one health claim is the APMA seal it holds. Staged in Documents. Nothing is published.

Prompt volume is the estimated monthly search demand for the topics and questions people type into AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. It shows you what your buyers are asking about, not just what they are searching for. Mentionry's Prompt Volumes feature uses search data to surface these trends, helping you decide which prompts to track daily and what content to create next.

What is not there yet

  • The figures shown today are monthly Google search demand, labelled Searches. AI assistant prompt volume from a panel is not on this screen yet; when it lands it will be labelled separately and never mixed with the search figure.

Where it lives in the platform

In the product it is /dashboard/prompt-volumes. On the trial it reads your own site from the first day; on Starter it keeps going, and on Enterprise it runs for every brand you have under one login.

What prompt volume means for AI marketing

Prompt volume measures interest in a topic as it enters AI conversations. When a buyer asks an answer engine 'what is the best CRM for a small agency', that is a prompt. The volume behind that prompt shows how many people are likely asking a similar question.

This is different from traditional keyword volume. Search volume tells you how many people typed a phrase into Google. Prompt volume estimates how many are asking an assistant. The intent is deeper, and the answer is a single synthesized paragraph with citations, not ten blue links. Winning here means your brand is named and cited in that answer.

Without a sense of prompt volume, you are tracking AI visibility in the dark. You might monitor a question only a handful of people ask, while missing the high-volume conversation happening next door. This feature lights up the room.

How Prompt Volumes works in Mentionry

The feature lives on your dashboard. It reads from a search data provider to estimate monthly demand for keywords and topics. These figures are labelled 'Searches' on the screen.

You see a list of keywords and their estimated monthly search volumes. You can filter by topic, region, or the engines you track, like ChatGPT or Gemini. The view shows trends, marking which topics are rising or falling month over month.

The core job is to connect this demand data to your tracked prompts. The screen shows you which high-volume topics you are already monitoring in your Answer Engine Insights. More importantly, it highlights the high-volume questions you are not yet tracking. This gap is where you take action.

Using prompt volume data in your week

Open the Prompt Volumes screen and filter for your product category. Look for the topics with the highest volume that you are not tracking. Add those questions to your daily prompt tracking list. Now Mentionry will read how the engines answer them every day.

When you see a competitor's name appearing in a high-volume topic where you are absent, brief a content piece. Use the exact question phrasing from the volume data. Ask your AI Marketer to draft a landing page that answers it, citing your unique angles from your Knowledge Base.

Review the monthly trend lines. A steady climb in volume for a niche topic is a signal to invest. A sudden spike might be a news event you can join. Use this to prioritize your editorial calendar and your prompt tracking budget.

How to read the numbers and their limits

The number shown is an estimate of Google search demand for that topic. It is a strong proxy, but it is not a direct count of prompts typed into ChatGPT. A rise in this number means more people are searching for this topic, which strongly suggests more are asking AI assistants about it.

A falling number does not necessarily mean the topic is irrelevant. It could mean the conversation has matured, or that the information is now commonly known and fewer people need to ask. Always combine this trend with your visibility score from your tracked prompts to see if you are still being cited.

The key trap is assuming volume equals importance. A low-volume, highly specific prompt might be asked by your ideal buyer at the moment of decision. Use volume to prioritize, not to exclude.

What Prompt Volumes does not do yet

This is a live feature with a partial data set. The figures you see today are monthly Google search demand. They are labelled 'Searches' to be clear.

AI assistant prompt volume from a live panel of users is not on this screen yet. That data will be added in the future. When it lands, it will be labelled separately and will never be mixed with the search volume figure. What you have now is the best available proxy to plan with.

This feature does not track every possible phrase. It is built from commercial search data. It will not show the long, conversational prompts that are unique to assistants. It shows the core topics those prompts are built upon. Nothing here is promised, it is a tool for insight.

Prompt Volumes on your plan

The feature is available on all paid plans. On the free seven day trial, you can access it to see how it works with your own site's topics.

The Starter plan at $99 a month includes Prompt Volumes alongside your daily tracking of 50 prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.

Enterprise accounts use the same feature, with higher prompt limits and more regions. The data is drawn from the same sources, but the analysis can be scaled across all the brands under one login.

Questions

Two columns side by side: Google search demand for the subjects behind your topics, and AI search volume, how often the same phrase is put to the assistants each month, modelled from a licensed panel of real assistant users. Both are dated on the screen.
